Have I mentioned I love shoes?
Oh? Repeatedly, you say?
But I do. The love is real. I even made my own shoes here in Rome.
However, while I might be able to craft a single pair of sandals with a lot of dedicated supervision, I like to buy my boots.
So every year, I make my pilgrimage to Santo, a small shop located near Campo de’ Fiori.
All leather and made in Italy, new styles appear for winter and summer.
I prefer the winter collections, and always end up finding a new pair of classic riding boots or adorable booties to add to my collection.
If you happen to be lucky enough to score your size during the saldi (sale season), you can walk away with these beauties for about €60. Not a bad deal AT ALL considering the quality and the design.
I am usually less thrilled with the summer offerings, so stop by soon before the cold weather boots are gone for another year.
Update: Recommendation currently on hold, because I may have bought Santo’s last pair of boots last week? After many years, the store front is mysteriously closed (though I am hoping that it is just for renovations).

Any update on Santo? I am coming to Rome shortly and I always love to go there to check out the offerings. If it’s still closed, do you have any alternative suggestions for good quality leather boots and shoes in Rome?
Hi! Do you have any update on Santo? Does it still closed? Where else I should find some nice boots?
Hi Natalie, I love your blog and am travelling to Rome from India end of September. Any update on Santo? From their Facebook page it seems they haven’t updated since 2015. Any other place for boots in Rome? Thank you 🙂
Ciao Ankita! Santo is sadly gone, but there is another shop called Angelo on the same street. It is not quite the same, but definitely has a wide selection of Made in Italy shoes.
Thank you 🙂
I am so lucky that I came across this article. My family & I are going to Rome in one month and you better know that show shopping is at the top of my to do list. thanks for the tips!
Thanks For Sharing Its Very Informative For Me
