Streets of Italy

Most of the time, when I spend a day out in Rome or take a day trip, I do very little planning. I just know that I will spend my time wandering the streets, waiting to see what is around the corner.

Big, small, after the rain, after the snow, dressed up for a holiday, or designed in simpler times, I love the streets of Italy.

Happy Sunday from Rome, where the summer’s signature 4 pm rain storm is right on time.

One of these days I will get to Rome – such a dream of mine. In the meantime, I’m always happy to visit here and see what you have to share.

I’ve been to Sorrento several times over the years and stayed there a couple times at the beautiful Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. I have walked through some back streets, popped into a couple beautiful churches and seen a statue or two (and the incredible stairs leading down the road to get to the harbor) but I was wondering if YOU have any favorite off the beaten spots or beautiful or interesting spots you really like in Sorrento? I know I’m missing the charms of Sorrento… but the guide books aren’t really pointing in the right direction. Not sure if there’s something special they miss.
