English Language Books in Rome at the Almost Corner Bookshop

The Almost Corner Bookshop has become a Roman institution for good reason.

The small shop is one of the best places to find English language books in Rome.

The small bookshop is located on a street that is currently more famous for its bars than its literature.

But I love that the Almost Corner Bookshop has such a great selection of contemporary fiction and nonfiction.

Plus, there is always a fun twist on Rome-centric titles.

Of course, all your guidebook needs can also be taken care of.

I will admit that I do sometimes buy books on Amazon.  As a mother-tongue English speaker living abroad, it is sometimes the easiest way to access new releases.

But I also fully realize that one of the things that makes Rome (and Italy in general) so charmingly frozen in time is the shop culture that you find here. The specialized stores that are locally owned and operated are truly the backbone of the neighborhoods in which you find them.

With the news that Starbucks is expanding into Italy, I knew it was time to be better at putting my money where my mouth is.

So I stopped into the Almost Corner Bookshop last week.  I found two books to take home, and spotted many more of my favorite books about Rome on the shelves.

Go. Lose yourself a little.

The Almost Corner Bookshop in Vial del Moro, 45 is indeed an excellent bookshop. The photos in your post, however, show the equally excellent Open Door Bookshop in Via della Lungaretta, 23.
